We are delighted to announce the launch of our Middle East programme for 2020 re-introducing Kyrgyzstan and adding an exotic combination tour of Oman & Zanzibar as well as new tours to Egypt, Jordan, Israel and Morocco.
The 2020 collection continues to grow due to a huge surge in interest to the region. Passenger numbers travelling to the Middle East so far this year have increased by 50% compared to the same time last year. Our escorted tours have increased by 51% and tailor-made numbers by 48%, showing continued confidence in the region’s security.
Owen Walker, Middle East product manager says, “We are thrilled to see that customers’ confidence in the region is strengthening. We’re particularly delighted with how well Central Asia and the Silk Road countries are doing as people look to travel to less traditional destinations. We are looking to build on that this year with the addition of the beautiful mountainous country of Kyrgyzstan.
NEW - KYRGYSZSTAN: Cox & Kings is seeing a particular surge in interest to Central Asia. Due to this, Cox & Kings has introduced Kyrgyzstan back into the programme. The new group tour, Colours of Kyrgyzstan, costs from £1,995 per person and spends 10 days discovering the varied landscapes of this beguiling country, including an overnight stay in a traditional yurt to learn about the semi-nomadic lifestyle.
NEW - OMAN & ZANZIBAR: A brand new exotic combination tour has been introduced to Cox & Kings’ portfolio. Oman & Zanzibar is a new private tour, on which guests travel to Stone Town in Zanzibar to retrace the legacy of Omani rule and its spice trade history, before continuing to Oman to explore Muscat, picturesque fishing villages along the coast, the desert dunes of Sharqiya Sands, and Nizwa on the edge of the Hajar mountains. The 8-day tour costs from £2,545 per person.
NEW - JORDAN: For the second year running, Jordan is the most popular destination for Cox & Kings, which is why three new private tours have been introduced for 2020. The 5-night Taste of Jordan tour (from £1,795 per person), visits the capital of Amman, the Roman remains of Jerash and the lost city of Petra, with time for a dip in the Dead Sea and a 4x4 desert excursion. Highlights of Jordan (from £2,045 per person), is a slightly longer tour (9 nights) with relaxation at both the Dead and Red seas, two days at Petra and a night in the desert. The Ancient Wonders of Jordan & Egypt (11 nights) is also new, costing £3,195 per person and combines some of Egypt’s most impressive historic sites with the highlights of Jordan’s cultural heritage.
NEW - EGYPT: There are exciting times ahead for Egypt with a new Grand Egyptian Museum due to open in Cairo in 2020. Cox & Kings has seen strong demand to the country in the last 12 months and has therefore introduced further sample itineraries to their programme. A huge variety of vessels ply the Nile waters, but nothing is more magical than a cruise aboard a small, traditional dahabeya. Cox & Kings’ new 10-day Enchanting Egypt Dahabeya tour includes five nights aboard a luxury, six-cabin dahabeya, sailing from Luxor to Aswan (from £3,295 per person). There is also a new 15-day Long Nile Cruise from Cairo to Luxor (£3,895 per person).
NEW - MOROCCO: Northern Morocco Explorer is a new 11-day private tour (from £2,695 per person), exploring the cities of Fez, Rabat, Chefchaouen and Tangier. Cox & Kings has also seen an increased interest in travelling the country in luxury, which is why Luxury Morocco Escape has also been introduced. The 10-day trip (from £6,245 per person), includes stays in three extravagant properties: Kasbah Tamadot in the High Atlas mountains, the Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay and the Royal Mansour in Marrakesh.
NEW - ISRAEL & THE OPT: Cox & Kings has introduced a new private tour called Israel Family Adventure. It’s an 11-day private tour which costs from £4,595 per person and includes a 4x4 ride through the Ramon crater, an archaeological dig to look for Roman artefacts and a cookery class with a local Israeli family.
All prices include international flights, transfers, excursions and accommodation with breakfast daily unless specified otherwise.
