MIDDLE EAST BOOKINGS CONTINUE TO SOAR
COX & KINGS LAUNCHES ITS MIDDLE EAST PROGRAMME FOR 2019 WITH NEW PRIVATE, GROUP AND SOLO TOURS, WITH AN ADDED LUXURY FOCUS
Cox & Kings, which celebrates its 260th anniversary this year, has launched its new brochure to the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia and the Gulf. The 2019 collection continues to grow due to a huge surge in interest to the region, with new escorted group tours, new solo traveller options, as well as new private travel ideas.
Passenger numbers travelling to the Middle East so far this year have increased by almost 70% compared to the same time last year. Cox & Kings’ escorted tours have increased by 89% and tailor-made numbers by 82%, showing continued confidence in the region’s security.
Owen Walker, Cox & Kings’ Middle East product manager says, “We are thrilled to see that customers’ confidence in the region is strengthening and our bookings are growing even more year on year. Passengers’ spend seems to have increased further, which is why we’ve included even more luxury options. We’re particularly delighted with how popular Jordan is selling this year. Historically, the Middle East was one of Cox & Kings’ best performing regions, and I am delighted to see that it is back in our top three again”.
NEW: JORDAN: With passenger numbers to Jordan increasing by an impressive 157% compared to the same time last year, Jordan proves to be the most popular destination by far. Splendours of Jordan is one of the company’s bestselling tours, with sales up by 201%, so a more luxury version has been introduced for 2019. The 8-night Jordan in Style private tour is priced from £2,895 per person and includes a selection of the most high-end accommodation in the country.
The Wonders of Jordan & Jerusalem is a new group tour, combining the biblical sites of Jerusalem and Bethlehem, with the cultural and scenic highlights of Jordan. The 10-night itinerary is priced from £2,495 per person.
NEW: ISRAEL & THE OPT: The new 8-night Treasures of Israel tour has a smaller group size compared to previous tours and has a selection of more boutique-style accommodation. Priced from £2,695 per person, clients visit the remarkable historic sites of Jerusalem, Nazareth and Acre with cosmopolitan Tel Aviv, whilst discovering numerous picturesque coastal towns. Guests also have the chance to stay in a traditional kibbutz for two nights.
NEW: OMAN: Passengers booked on the escorted tour to Oman (An Arabian Odyssey) so far for 2018 are up by over 38% compared to last year and with new luxury hotels having just opened in the country, this trend looks set to continue. With a significant increase in demand for solo traveller tours, Cox & Kings has introduced Oman Discovery, a new 8-night itinerary priced from £2,445 per person. The trip is more active than previous trips, with guests exploring Oman’s mountainous and rugged interior. The itinerary includes a dolphin watching cruise along Muscat’s coastline and the opportunity to cook traditional Omani food at a cookery school in Muscat.
Oman is Style is a new luxury private tour, on which guests can enjoy superb facilities and stylish accommodation high in the mountains, deep in the desert and by the sea in Muscat. The 10-night tour priced from £4,195 per person includes a drive through desert dunes in a 4x4, a beautiful walk through the dramatic scenery of the Al Hajar mountains, a night under the stars in the desert and a private catamaran cruise around the Daymaniyat islands for snorkelling.
NEW: MOROCCO: Just a short flight from the UK, Morocco is an easy destination to visit for a complete change in culture and traditions and offers excellent value for money, which is why the destination continues to remain extremely popular for Cox & Kings. Mystical Morocco is a new solo traveller tour, which provides travellers with more free time to search out hidden treasures in Marrakesh, appreciate the spectacular views whilst trekking through the High Atlas Mountains, as well as unwind in the delightful fishing town of Essaouira. The 7-night tour is priced from £1,745 per person.
Moroccan Discovery is a new 14-night private tour priced from £3,395 per person. It is a far more in-depth journey through the country, encompassing the dramatic landscapes of the Sahara desert, the historic towns of Tangier and Meknes, the coastal retreat of Essaouira and Morocco’s four imperial cities: Rabat, Meknes, Fez and Marrakesh.
